Welcome to the 5th grade classroom!

      Hello! I am Ms. Mazelin and I am excited to be teaching at HHAI for my fifteenth year. This is my twenty-first year teaching in grades two through five. For my own education, I attended Brebeuf Jesuit and Butler University, where I earned my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. After earning my undergraduate degree I continued my professional development by earning my National Board Certification in Literacy: Reading and Language Arts for Early and Middle Childhood.

    Outside of teaching I have many other interests that keep me on the go. I enjoy hiking with my dog, reading, eating sushi, attending Zumba classes, and going to the cinema. I am a fan of Colts football and Butler men's basketball. My favorite things include chocolate and Starbucks.

    I look forward to sharing all of the exciting things we do in fifth grade with your child and watching him or her grow as we complete another successful year, here at the Hasten Hebrew Academy.

Unity

I dreamed I stood in a studio and watched two sculptors there, the clay they used was a young child's mind, and they fashioned it with care.

One was a teacher; the tools she used were books, music, and art. One was a parent; who worked with a guiding hand and gentle loving heart.

Day after day the teacher toiled with a touch that was deft and sure. While the parent labored by her side and polished and smoothed it o're.

And when at last their task was done, they were proud of what they had wrought. For these things they had molded into the child could neither be sold or bought.

And each agreed they would have failed if they had worked alone, for behind the parent stood the school and behind the teacher, the home.
